Completely lost here.. my roommate decided to build a custom pc and he assumed that since i built my own i would be able to put his together no problem but his is way more advanced than mine.. so far weve installed the cpu and the heat sink, the ram, weve got the case buttons and usbs all hooked up and installed a few extra fans. He got a mechanical hard drive and a solid state drive but the solid state drive says that the cd that came with it needs to be loaded onto it using a usb adapter before it is actually connected to the power supply and the motherboard and it didnt come with an adapter so we need to go get one of those. I was going to just use the hard drive for now but i cant find a single spot in his case that a hard drive can be mounted. As for the graphics card i have no idea what we need to do he has a 1080 ti we put it in the board secured it and plugged in the auxiliary power and when we plug in the computer and flip the switch it lights up but when we actually turn it on nothing displays on the screen and the fans dont move. The heat sink fan and the other fans we installed light up and move but we get nothing from the card. The only pc ive built before this was my own and that was about 6 hours of googling youtubing and swearing and i have no idea what to do from here. Please save us

I've never seen a ssd need to do what you are talking about. I know that some of them have software to monitor them or even have drivers but that can be downloaded from the manufacturer site and you'll probably get a updated version. For your post problems, it could be the card or could be a bad ram. Does the board have any codes that display? I would try and removed one of the ram sticks and try one at a time in both slots. Then do the other. If the problem still persists then you either have two bad rams or the card is bad. You could try and move the card to a different slot or use another one, maybe your card as you kow it works. This is the method that I would try. Also make sure all things are connected properly and don't have anything connected other than core stuff (no hdd's or cd roms).
