is this worth it? is there anywhere I can upgrade or swap with a better option, 1300$ is my budget.

Without knowing the specifics, it is hard to tell you one way or another. For example, which Asus Z87 MB? What type of Thermaltack case, etc.

I always check Newegg and typically purchase from them since they are usually lowest price.
