Need Help with a music recording/video editing build!

I record music with Pro Tools and edit Canon T2i video files via Sony Vegas 10.My budget for this build is around $800.I am looking for a build that will handle the large HD video files with no issues.I would prefer Windows 7 and Intel but am not opposed to other ideas.With cyber Monday going on hopefully I can take advantage of some good deals!Thanks in advance for you suggestions it is much appreciated.

The Radeon card is included for Open CL acceleration in Vegas. It helps render and playback. If you want to overclock, then also add in another $30 for an upgraded cooler like the Hyper212 or similar.

Well that $535 was excluding the processor, so that would bring your total up to your budget adding that in.

I honestly don't know what else I'd upgrade if you meant beyond that. . Maybe your monitor? Vegas 12? Jump to a 7870 for higher end gaming?

AS is, an i7 with 16GB of RAM and an SSD is going to scream. You could run some higher end motherboard or case if you wanted, but it isn't going to make it faster.

Oh, yeah, if you live near microcenter, they have by far the best deals in store only.

You might be able to find the parts above (or a similar variation) in microcenter and save some hassle.

Yeah, that's fine. The brand is not that important, I just picked those as they were a good deal at the time.

I wouldn't take anything in my list as a concrete. It is more of a starting point of product ideas and general idea of what is needed. I'd read the reviews on everything and decide for yourself which brands to buy. And many things are more a matter of preference, like cases.

That graphics card is also now out of stock can you please recommend another one.I am sorry for asking so many questions but that is an important part of my build and I want to make sure the card will be specifically good for music and intensive video editing and rendering.I currently have a new 700 watt power supply in case that helps your recomendation.

Do you have plans to go to Vegas 12? I hadn't looked at the version when I recommended Radeon. Vegas 10 only supports GPU acceleration when outputting to one format - Sony AVC. ANd they only promise a 5-20% speed boost. You may not even want to worry about a GPU if you stay on V10.

If you can move to V12 and use GPU acceleration you can get up to a 3x speed boost for all formats by offloading much of the rendering to the video card. If you can go to vegas 12, a Radeon 7750/7770 or a Nvidia 550TI/560 would be good purchases.

I will upgrade to 12 in that case and go for the 7750.I was able to get almost everything else on the build list I cant wait to put it together!

If you haven't ordered the video card, i just found out V12 supports Intel Quicksync using the onboard HD4000. THat ends up meeting or beating the OPenCL acceleration on the Radeon. You'd still want a Radeon or Geforce for gaming, but may not need it for rendering.

Don't sweat 1 vs 2GB on this level of card.

I got everything in and hooked up but I had one question prior to turning it on.I went ahead and got the 500 watt power supply you recommended and after reading around people said it should be enough for my video card, is this true?The card I ended up getting is the ASUS HD7770-2GD5 .
