So I'm currently waiting on my parts to arrive for my PC. I really didn't want to spend money on an OS, because I had hopes that I could get an .iso and use a bootable usb. I haven't really understood the tutorials and they usually lead to dead ends and non-working iso's. I just need someone to walk me through getting a .iso burned to my usb that will work as an OS for my new PC. Windows 7 and up would be perfect. Any help is HIGHLYY appreciated, thanks!

If you are going to buy the OS anyway, you can save the hassle and buy it on a USB:

http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/Windows-10-Home/productID.319937100?tduid=(484c56d3109cc2534e3be2102f41b722)(256380)(2459594)(SRi0yYDlqd0-yI3KQP1Z4MyRw66S8cOBLw)()

If you shop around, you can usually find it even cheaper through one of Microsoft's partners. If you already have a Windows install disk, you could use it and just buy a license with a new product key.

If you have a valid windows license you should be able to get an ISO direct from Microsoft. Then just use Rufus (software) to make the bootable USB.

You will have to purchase an OS.
What install media it is on is of no consequence.

You can't just 'get an ISO'. The license is what costs.
