Need help with buy arma for DAY Z!!

I have arma 2 free version, so can i just by operation arrowhead and download dayz? without buying the full arma 2?

apparently that is possible however you would have worse graphics as the free version has worse looking textures than the full,

ArmA II: CO is worth buying for DayZ. But if you aren't in any kind of rush i suggest that you wait for standalone release of DayZ.
