Here are my current specs

Graphics Card: AMD Radeon ™ R9 200 Series, -2048 Mb

So I want a new gpu because mine kinda sucks but i have no idea what to get. I do a lot of gaming, Mainly rust which is recommended to have an Nvidia gtx 980 but idk if that'd be overkill for my pc or not. Do you all recommend i build a whole new pc? Or just get a better gpu.

Solution
The newer GTX 1060 is on par with the GTX 980. It would be a great upgrade for your system.

You could get some increase in performance from a newer CPU, Mobo, and RAM, with an Intel system, or with AMD Ryzen getting ready to release. But it's certainly not necessary.

*You didn't specify which R9 200 series GPU you have. You could install GPU-Z and see how many shaders it has to determine which model it is.
