Hello and welcome to my thread.. Thing

I've been wanting a 1080p monitor for quite some time now and I'm getting to the point of having enough money to actually buy one, but I don't know which to pick.. I've narrowed it down to two BenQ monitors which seem to be great, no reliability issues (this is an extremely important factor), are of what I think will be the perfect size (24") and of course, 1080p.
Here are the links:

BenQ GL2450HT: http://www.benq.com.au/product/monitor/gl2450ht/

BenQ GL2460:
http://www.benq.com.au/product/monitor/gl2460/

I would prefer a selection out of these two due to the store being literally 5 minutes away which saves me $50 on shipping. Another note is that I'm in Australia and our dollar is at an all-time low right now (I think $1 AUD = .77 USD as of late-April)

Now I'll explain why I'm stuck between these two with pros/cons

GL2460 Pros
- Slimmer Bezel
- Less response time

Cons
- No ergonomic adjustments
- No HDMI (Although I can just plug in my Xbox to the TV I have currently)

GL2450HT Pros
- Possibly better colours and such, I think it's IPS
- Has HDMI and ergonomic adjustments
- Cheaper

Cons
- What seems like much thicker bezels

Why is the 2450HT Cheaper with so many more features? Is build-quality skimped on? less life-span?
I'm greatly confused, and I can't find any reviews on either but that's probably due to my terrible luck at finding good things. If anyone has experience with these monitors then please leave some feedback on them, I don't mind taking the lesser-featured one if it'll definitely last longer.

Oh, almost forgot, I'm currently using a 26" Samsung 1360x768 TV that came with our big old 46" 1080p one from when 1080p was as expensive as 4K is today.

Sorry for the wall of text, thank you for reading, here have a cookie 😀 It's twix flavoured

Edit: Updated the links to the BenQ site, old links didn't allow people outside of Aus to open them

Solution

I'm definitely leaning towards the GL2450HT. Thanks for the quick response! Also, I'll see if I can update the links to an American site or something, it seems only Aussies can access them

I suggest you consider this TN 1ms Gaming monitor over TN 2ms GL2450HT one:

BenQ RL2455HM 1ms GTG TN Panel Console / PC Gaming Monitor
1920 × 1080 (16:9) / TN Panel / 1ms Response Time / D-sub / DVI-DL(Dual Link) / HDMI x 2 / Headphone jack / Line in with 2W x 2 Speakers / VESA Wall Mounting 100 × 100mm / Contrast Ratio 1000:1 / View Angle 70° / 160°
Has pretty good reviews, price the same as RL2450HT with slightly better specs. You can get it from here:

Reading all the reviews for that monitor I keep seeing problems with Ghosting. Is this a real issue?

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll definitely consider it, does it still look alright? "Gaming" monitors seem to have not-so-great colours and such. Also, looking on the site I'm going to order if I order online from (PCCaseGear)
I managed to find this, it's a GL2460 with HDMI and speakers and such
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=24384&cPath=1090
It's also $20 cheaper than the one you sent me. Could you recommend it? Thank you a lot for the help, I really appreciate it

I actually asked on the LTT Forums, got over 200 Views but ZERO replies.. When in doubt, Toms Hardware eh?

As far as I can see, this monitor has more positive reviews that heavily over weigh the very few negative ones on:

Amazon (746 votes, 79% 5 stars, 12% 4 stars, 3% each for 1-3 stars)
Newegg (44 votes, 52% 5 stars, 20% 4 stars, 16% 3 stars, 2% 2 stars, 9% 1 star).

If its as bad as you say, it won't be having such high number of 4 to 5 ratings.

You can take a look at this FPS gaming session and listen to the comments of the player experiencing it:

If you're not satisfied, you can consider this recent one which is said to be the successor of RL2455HM and priced $10 less:

Sadly the "successor" to the RL2455HM isn't available in the online store I can order from (http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=index). Right now I'm tossing up between the GL2460HM and the RL2455HM. Though keep in mind, while the price is the same as the original two I was choosing from (GL2450HT and GL2460) I have to pay an extra $40 on shipping since I can't just pick them up from my local store, and there's always the chance it's broken on delivery :c

Given the limited options you've, then very well get the:

GL2450HT - If pricing is not a concern, want a gaming monitor with 2ms gtg response time that consumes 27W power.

(or)

GL2460 - If you want a good budget gaming monitor, has the same 2ms gtg response time, has a significantly lower price than RL2450HT that consumes 24W power.

Monitor: BenQ GL2460HM 60Hz 24.0" Monitor ($179.00 @ IJK)
