I am going to build myself amy first pc and was stuck in choosing a graphics card. My budget is $600-$650 if it makes a difference.

I was looking at the R9 380 4GB, R9 290 (non X) Tri X,GTX 950, R7 370

Yes. Compact Disc, Digital Video Disc, and Blu-Ray are all considered Optical discs because they are read with a laser. (Consumer writable discs are also written with a laser, Commerical discs are stamped)
