I have a Edifier 1850db and a Yamaha yst fsw150. I'd like to connect the 3.5 sub out on Edifier to the single rca input on yamha. Sadly all cables in market come with 1 3.5 to 2 RCA.
I actually already have this cable and Some people say I can use one of the RCA of the two in the sub input and it would work. I tried doing that but sadly I get a constant noise as output.

The sub is in working condition. Currently I have connected the aux to my pc, one RAC out put going to subwoofer and one going to right speaker aux input of Edifier.

I know i can make more modifications to make this system functional, but I am very interested to use the functionality of sub out. They main reason i bought the powered sub

The manual for those speakers doesn't discuss the subwoofer output. I would think you should be able to do what you want to with a 3.5mm to RCA cable. I don't have an explanation as to why it doesn't work.
Is it possible that the subwoofer output only works with the optical input on the speakers? Are you using the analog (RCA) input?
