I posted here previously about my computer freezing and blue screening. I received a bunch of information which led me to buy a new power supply as well as discovered my ram was faulty. So I replaced my power supply and bought new ram. Sadly, the freezing is still occurring. I think it's pretty much down to the motherboard itself needing to be replaced? Anyways, I have a dump file that I would like you guys to analyze and try to shed some light on this nightmare. I have also previously tried using a fresh copy of windows 7 along with a brand new SSD ( straight from the pack ) and still froze. Is this a software thing or is this a hardware problem?

DUMP FILE

Current System Specs:
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
MOBO: Biostar A960g+
CPU: AMD FX-6300
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 660
MEMORY: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB)
PSU: CORSAIR TX650 Enthusiast Series 650W 80 PLUS
HDD: Kingston v300 SSD

I've only seen it go up to about 65*C. This is a screen I just took coretemp.

Actually, the most recent crash did happen under load. Before it would happe while sitting idle. However, this was before I upgraded PSU / MEM. Maybe I should try playing a game and check my temps? You think it's overheating?

Looks like we found the problem. I was running standard test and on the 3rd pass the temp reached 72*C and my system froze. So my next question is do I have to get a better heatsink? Or is my CPU faulty? I currently use the stock heatsink.

Ok I will do that. Thanks for the help, bro. I will come back tomorrow and update on the progress. Also, should I re-apply thermal compound or just leave as is?

Update: I ran IntelBurnTest and it made it through all 10 passes. I noticed that my temp only reached 67*C on 3 of the 10 tests. Last time it reached 72*C on the third pass before my computer froze. So What I did is I re-seated my CPU like you said and cleaned out the CPU cooler ( it was full of dust ). Do you think I'm good for now?

you could be reseating the cpu could have solved the problem I believed was happening with it heating up and losing contact. If you can adjust the speed on the cpu fan could you turn it down a bit and get the chip around 80 and see if it crashes that will tell you if you permanently solved this problem or if you just improved the cooling.

Okay, I might try that. I also played a game for 2 hours and it seemed to perform well and haven't had a freeze / blue screen since! I will post later if things change.

Just played once again and it looks like it only reached 54*C as the highest. Also haven't frozen / blue screened.
