need help with CPU build

Iam not that smart with the buil of a PC
i just got a fast question i got a i7 4790 procesor atm and i wana get a new graphics card MSI Z97-GD65 the only problem i have is that i only see builds with the i7 4790k.
but i wana do it with a i7 4790 does that work :3 ty

You said graphics card but listed a motherboard? Are you asking if the board and your 4790 is compatible? (It is). Or are you looking for a graphics card to go with those?

Nah i got the whole thin settled MSI 970 GTX corsair 550
4x 8gig vengeance RAM
But i got a (old i7) the one iam jusing at the moment but i wana switch motherboard frome asus b85 pro to MSI Z97-GD65 but i dont know if my I7 is compatible with the motherboard

I see.
Yes your processor is compatible with that motherboard, no problem.
The reason you see the 4790k more than the 4790 is many users like to overclock. You need a "k" series processor from intel to OC. Dosent mean yours is older, worse, or incompatible though.

Most people that use a K CPU , also have a Z97 board to overclock .You can run a 4790 non k on a Z board , you just can't overclock.

Hello... Yes a non "K" model (i7 4790) will work in your "Z" MB.
