Hi everyone, first off apologies for what may be a lengthy post.

I've had my PC for about 2 years now and have got the bug for upgrading / tweaking. I decided to overclock my CPU and so I installed the Evo 212 due to its many recommendations. I have done a very basic OC on my CPU by just altering the multiplier to x42 with vcore left on auto.

I tested with prime and monitored the heat + voltage with both real temp and HWmonitor. The temps @ load are 68-70 after 30mins of prime and seem stable after that. The voltage is 1.22.

Now, I want to push the cpu a little further to maybe 4.4 and I know I should be manually altering the voltage due to the MB drawing more than it actually might need which can cause increased temps. And im also aware that 1.3 is the "safe" limit on ivybridge chips

Im looking at installing 2 x CM Sickle Scythe as intakes on the front of my case would this considerably help the cpu temps as at the minute I have no intakes on my case at all.

In addition, I want to overclock my GPU but temps @ standard clocks are hitting 70c whilst gaming. I did not want to overclock the GPU as the temps are already high. Again, the two intake fans on the case would be blowing almost directly on and underneath the GPU so would this reduce the temps much or only a little?

Specs which matter...
i5 3570K @ 4.2GHZ
Sapphire 7870 GHZ OC Edition
Corsair TX650
Antec 300 case with rear + top exhaust
Hyper evo 212 HS.

Sorry for the bombardment of questions! If you can provide any info at all that would be great.

Solution
Air flow is key. You need to get cold air in and hot air out. Exhaust fans extracting hot air are just as or maybe even more important. If you take in more air than you can get out you risk hot spots where pockets of air get stuck.
