Question Need help with Destiny 2 framerates

PC Specs -
- GTX 1080 Ti
- Ryzen 7 2700x
- 16GB Corsair RBG pro @ 3200Mhz

Can't seem to hit 144 Frames for my monitor am I doing something wrong? Made the switch from console to PC well worth it but want to hit those frames
Tried switching between the highest, high, and medium graphics presets within the game.

Depends on various factors. The resolution is one; drivers another. But with Tech Spot's benchmarks I think the goal of consistent 1080p144 might be a bit lofty: https://www.techspot.com/review/1478-destiny-2-pc-benchmarks/

Depending on the graphical options of Destiny 2, it might be possible to tweak and change various aspects so you get better performance.

I think that fps drops a lot based on how much online players youre actually around. Kinda did a test in the same area in a mission by myself and in a free roam situation and its 144 during missions.

This would make sense. It's why for some benchmarks for The Witcher 3 the chosen area is that city with a lot of people; most intensive for the CPU (a lot of things to calculate), and could be seen as a worst case scenario (couple with 0.1% lows).
