Hey guys so I have this issue with my pre-built PC, an HP Compaq Elite 8300. I modified the PC, added 4 more gigs of RAM for a total of 12GB, put in a 1050 Ti Low Profile, only left the stock i5-3570 and everything has been going as it should with this hardware, running games at expected frame rates and all. This is gonna sound kind of dumb but I bought a Razer DeathAdder Expert from Wal-Mart (yeah dumb move I know) because my scroll wheel on my old mouse was too sensitive and I usually died in-game scrolling past the item I want to use, so I bought this one. Now, I want to change the DPI settings because I barely get any flexibility with the sensitivity options in-game, for example minimum sensitivity being a bit too slow and 3 levels above is too fast, so I only get about 2 reasonable sensitivities to choose from. I'd like to fine-tune my sensitivity in some games, but I simply can't. Now, the point is that the PC I'm on right now was originally Windows 7 Pro, but I got the free upgrade to Windows 10. I can't download the drivers for my PC because HP no longer drops the driver updates for devices running Windows 10, and it reads, "HP does not provide Windows 10 drivers on HP.com for HP computers sold prior to August 2013. Microsoft has made most of the component drivers for these products available via Device Manager once the product is running Windows 10 with an active Internet connection." So I'm in a tough situation here, since manually trying to update drivers from the device manager doesn't do jack s**t, says everything is up to date, but doesn't detect my Razer peripherals. I read in another thread where somebody was having the same problem, and all they had to do was update their motherboard's USB hubs, but that isn't an option for me, as I would have to revert to Windows 7, which I really don't want to do just to be able to change some settings for my peripherals. I downloaded Synapse, and doesn't detect my peripherals either. I've had this mouse for well over the return period too, so returning it isn't an option. I just got tired of not being as accurate as I can be so just now trying to find a way to do this.
TL;DR New Razer mouse, can't change DPI settings in Synapse; PC doesn't recognize Razer peripherals. Seems I have to update mobo's USB drivers, can't because HP no longer supports Windows 10 driver updates, only Windows 8.1 and under. PC was originally Windows 7 Pro, upgraded free to Windows 10.
