Hello ! I have a Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 3 G1 Gaming Motherboard. I bought a 4x4 GB DDR4 DIMM RAM kit, here is the link: https://www.kjell.com/se/sortiment/dator-natverk/datorkomponenter/ram-minnen/team-ram-minne-dimm-ddr4-pc19200-4-x-4-gb-p97838
As you can see in the official website for my motherboard, there are 4 RAM slots. When I try to boot with the 4 ram sticks plugged in it does a 2 second long beep 5 times and then shuts off. Then it turns on again and repeats the beeps. On the motherboard, the ram slots have different colors, 2 are red, 2 are black. I plugged in only 1 ram stick on the DDR4_1 ram slot and it booted just fine, then I added another RAM stick (from the kit) into the second slot of the same color and it booted just fine. Once booted, I go into CPU Z and is shows me this: https://www.flickr.com/photos/153244358@N08/shares/n2YG86
Why is it not showing the 4GB I have installed? Is there a problem? I tested all the ram sticks individually and each of them work. In that picture I had 2x4 GB Ram sticks installed in a dual channel slot ( 2 RAM sticks in the 2 red slots ). Why is it showing “single channel”? Is there a BIOS error? How can I make the 2 RAM sticks show up? Here is a screenshot of Task manager in the memory tab:

I am running Windows 10 64 Bit. This should use up 2 GB of ram according to their website. So it should say that 6 GB are available since I have 8 GB Ram ( 8GB ram – windows = about 6 GB ram available ) But it is showing 2.2 GB available as if I was using only 1 ram stick. Under that it is written “Commited” What does this mean? Why does this “Commited” tab show the approximate size of ram I have installed ( 7.1GB, I suppose this is the ram available it detects, though I am sure what the Commited tab means, I suppose it is detecting the ram fine since it is showing 7.1 GB of memory )? Why does commited show 2.2GB/7.1GB ? Is there a bug that shows less ram than there actually is?
Another question: I want to disable this dual channel stuff and use ALL my 4 GB ram cards on ALL slots ignoring the dual channel (I read that using dual channel makes the speed more effective, I do not care about this, I just want my 16 total GB ram sticks to work.) How can I make this happen? My power supply is Antec EARTHWATTS Model EA-500 (It’s what is written on it) It also says 500W Max. Is the power supply too weak to support the ram? I think it should be fine since DDR4 is supposed to consume less power than the ram I had on that pc before (This pc is being upgraded, It works fine but the only thing I can’t figure out is ram.) I used a Asus P5KPL motherboard and 2x 2GB DDR2 ram sticks. I am trying to give all the info I can. I did not touch any BIOS settings yet so everything should be with the default settings. The only thing I did the 1st time I booted into windows is check the CPU Z and task manager memory tabs and download the drivers from the CD that was in the motherboard case. What do I have to do to be able to use all 4 RAM sticks on my PC? Do you require more info? If you need any more information just ask and I will post a picture / more specs. Hope this was enough info.
