Question Need help with extending storage

I want to extend my storage with 2 Samsung Evos but i am not sure which PCIe adapter i should buy and if my mobo allows it.

Motherboard: B550 Aorus pro ac
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X

I've been using the above SIIG adapter for 4 years without problems. It holds my NVMe data drive. Not Windows. Certainly should work with an EVO.

Right now i got 2 Samung 970 EVO plus 500GB and 2 TB and a 4TB HDD for general media storage
I wanted to add 2 extra via an adapter and i was looking at either another 2x 970 EVO plus or a 980 pro
based on whether i get a 3.0 or 4.0 adapter.
Mostly for gaming, i have an incredibly slow download and that's why i don't want to uninstall games

I'd suggest just getting a couple of SATA III SSDs, to go in the native SATA ports.
No adapters needed.
Game performance will be zero difference.


Also, your board has only one PCIe 4.0 capable slot. Hopefully, you're using that for your GPU.
So a 980 Pro would be wasted in the other ones.

PCIe to M.2 NVMe don't care which version.

You will not notice any performance impact using 2.5" sata ssd devices.
