Hey guys, i recently acquired a second brand new sapphire r9 380 for a super cheap price and was looking at installing it into my system with my existing sapphire r9 380 in a crossfire configuration.
My system specs are : Intel i5 4460 3.2 Ghz
Kingston Hyper X RAM 1600 Mhz 16 GB (8 GB sticks x2)
Gigabyte H97 Gaming 3 Motherboard (1150 socket edition)
Antec High Current Gamer 850W Modular PSU
Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD and Intel Cherryville 120GB SSD
Aerocool StrikeX panel Fan Controller
I have 6 Fans to install into the case 2x 140 MM Corsair AF140 Air series
4x 120 MM Corsair AF120 Air series
Current Case is a Corsair Graphite 230T,
Fan Mounting Locations are: Front: (x2) 120mm
Top: (x2) 120/140mm
Rear: (x1) 120mm
Bottom: (x1) 120/140mm
Now i have two questions for your brilliant minds out there, first question is given the 6 fans i have a mounting positions available to me what would be the most effective way to set these fans up in the case to maximize cooling potential for the system
Second question is, will my current hardware bottleneck the crossfired 380's in any way at all and is my current PSU capable of handling the system in a crossfire cofig.
Disclaimer...... i know that in the long run i would of been better of getting the single higher gpu over crossfire but i already owned an r9 380 and got the second one at an incredibely cheap price so it actually worked out cheaper in the long run to make the second 380 purchase over buying a single 390.
Thanks so much for any help you guys can give. Super appreciated.
Thanks Chris
