Need help with first build

He guys, I'm wanting to get into PC gaming, and I need help with a build. I want to be able to play pretty much any game on high if possible for my budget, which will be 650-750. I wouldn't mind staying on the lower end of those number but if I can that's fine. I have found a case that I would like because I am going off to college, it is the bitfenix prodigy. Help with my build please.

Yes. Do you know how well this will run BF3 or something along those lines? Also I asked this at another site and one guy posted something with a similar PSU, but then one guy commented and said that that PSU could possibly not be strong enough. What is you opinion on that??

you will get 45-55 FPS on high settings(not stable) and no i don't think that the PSU with 550W will not be strong enough to power up the system...

that PSU will be fine but you won't be able to fit the 7850 without taking out the 3.5 inch bay and I would avoid the steagate 7200.12AS drives and spend up for either the caviar blue 64mb or the seagate 7200.14 64mb

Swap out the 3.5inch drive for a 2.5inch one if you want to keep the same case

agree with wat you said... i put that in because he choose that case... and also that case is a very good one for ITX build IMHO... well Lian-Li is will be good too

Also would you all consider the AFX Radeon that both of you listed as a better GPU than GIGABYTE GV-R785OC-1GD Radeon HD 7850 1GB? I have read a lot of good things about the Gigabyte.

you will not be able to fit the 7850 unless you take out the 3.5" drive bay

The XFX is a 2GB so that is better than a 1gb gigabyte one.

I am liking the gigabyte cooler though as I am running the 2GB version

The gigabyte has a better cooler and has a factory OC and you get all that for $15 more than the stock xfx 2GB which is a pretty decent as you want the best cooling you can get in such a small case

Are you planning to take out the top 3.5inch HDD bay then?

Upon further research it appears you can fit 3.5inch drives in the bottom drive cage

Yeah, I was thinking about it. I want to try and get the most performance as I can for my budget. I have read it doesn't do a lot if I take it out, I can live with only 500GB. I already have a 1TB external drive that I use to store movies on for my Laptop and I still have well over 750GB available on it.

Take 500GB will be good enough then... You can always add in another HDD or SSD in the future...
