need help with first build.

Solution
The cooler comes with good thermal paste. No worry there.

If you are doing alot of rendering get the i7 4790k and a z97 motherboard. The 16gb RAM will also help, but as stated, get a kit of 8gbx2, not 2 separate sticks.
If you're going just for gaming this is my solution:

If u r not going to overclock your cpu then its good........... i7 4770k is currently one of the best processor after 4790k, Mobo is great it comes with a wifi and bluetooth, good ram, enough memo config, killer cabinet, enough psu wattage, good monitor keyboard and mouse........
Configured gpu is one of the best in its class...

You should use windows 8 as os because few upcoming games will have windows 8 as only recommended os
This config is speachlessly good.. My parents wont give me this much budget ...
Yes man go for this config only change your os.............

Dont forget to rate my answer as best if you liked it........

U r right infact z based mobo are made for devils canyon.............. And this guy already has such a high budget so it wont be a problem........
😀

Z based motherboards are made for overclocking. The 97 chipset is what is made for devil's canyon.

With regards to your other questions...

"Wont I need the drive bays it says I have to remove to make the gpu fit?"

You don't have to worry about the drive bays. The NZXT Phantom 410 has a removable HDD rack to make space for long graphics cards but still has the capacity for two storage devices.
Here is a picture with the removable HDD rack in place. http://cdn.overclock.net/4/44/447c09bf_NZXT-Phantom-410-Crafted-Series-Chassis-12.jpeg
Here is another picture with the rack removed.

"And will I need ANYTHING else to put this together myself?"

I guess enough space to work on building the parts. ^_^

This build will mainly be used for gaming and game design/programming/3d rendering. The budget isnt really an issue because I was going to purchase the new asus rog laptop anyway. Figured I could get way better for cheaper just building it.
