Need help with HD 6870

So here is the scenario, i just installed my AMD HD 6870 into a fresh windows installed system. The problem is when i install the driver, it will boot up OK until the log on screen then it will go to a black screen and just stay like that until i system restart. But the problems only arise when the driver are present.

I have tried both beta & official drivers but both do not work for me.

For reference i have checked all cables and connections.

What brand, model, and wattage PSU are you using?

How long have you let the black screen stay there before doing a hard reset?

Also, does your card have a bios switch that would allow you to try a second bios?

Its only a Casecom ATX 500w, I've just read a review on this PSU and in my own words its SH**t. Think that's what causing my problem, the cheap PSU.

Don't know about anyone else.
The card has no button for BIOS switch-over.

That would definitely be the first thing I'd replace, or at least see if you can get ahold of a good PSU to borrow and confirm that's the problem. (even if it's not the problem, you should consider replacing it soon once you've solved the current issue).
