Need help with i5 gaming pc

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming, surfing the internet, school work, watching movies

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I would like this computer to play most current games at around 30fps. I don't want the computer to be very loud, but it does not have to be silent. Since I will not be doing any overclocking at first, I will stick with the stock cpu cooler that comes with the cpu and then later upgrade to a hyper 212+ or a Corsair h50.

for the rest good build exept that 850w is overkill but since it leaves room for sli I'd keep it

I know the power supply is overkill, but I hope to use it for future builds and have plenty of power for future upgrades

I would go with this build... Similar but you get a better GPU (Even if you are an Nvidia Fan, the ATI card below is better)!!

I have heard some people complaining about a high pitch noise on the asus p7p55d-e pro, do you think this would be a reason not to get this board

The ram you cangle mentioned or the one I mentioned are both much better. Although you have to OC the doniators to fully utuilize them. A friend of mine though said that gigabyte boards even atomattically OC it to cl6.

And I would take the nvidia. Not because it's better because it isn't. But because nvidia is cool and the 470 will compare quite well with a 5870 at your res with settings on highest. The fact is that fermi has no trouble with settings and the 5870 exels at making lots of pixels. So if you want huge screens or multiple go ati otherwise nvidia.
