Need help with internet speeds

So recently I upgraded my internet package to include 75mbps internet up from 25mbps on my 25mbps connection I was only reaching about 18, and now with my 75mbps im getting 30 and this is through a wired connection, ive called my internet company and they werent able to increase the speed at all... they are sending a technician out in a few days, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of things I might be able to try on my own in the mean time.
Also my modem is capable of 250mbps so its not that.

Have your tried to power off your cable modem for 15 seconds and powering it up. when I upgraded from 25 to 100 I had similar issue until I cold booted my modem

Yeah, I actually went as far as unplugging everything letting it sit for 5 min and plugging it all back in.. and now I'm also noticing my wifi signal is showing full signal and 72 mbps... but it actually isn't working at all

what make model of cable modem do you have (if it is 1 box modem/router its the same)?

I actually got the issue figured out.. for one apparently my area is only capable of 30mbps, and for 2 I had to have my modem bridged to make my router work properly
