My gateway profile 4 (all in one desktop pc) recently died, and instead of throwing away the lcd on it, i am trying to make it usable with some of my other desktops.

This lcd (samsung ltm170eh-l01) has a converter card(samsung pf41700) with it already. The thing is that the video input on it is a wierd horizontal one row 13 pin connector. I believe that this input is analog but im not sure. This card has minimal documentation online (i could find none)..

But i did find a pdf for a different converter card, that shows a 13pin connecter being the same thing as an typical analog vga connector..here Scroll down to the third page on this link, and it shows some diagramsThe two in the upperleft hand corner are the ones i'm talking about.

I'm thinking i could wire a converter that simply turns that 13pin into a typical vga connector. Then i would simply be able to plug it into any of my desktops. Does this sound like it would work?

The only issue i would have is finding away to get power into it- for it has an odd five pin connector. I'm thinking i might be able to find one somwhere online, or maybe i could make my own but i wouldn't want to do that for the dangers involved.
Here are some pictures.

Heres the connector which connected the converter board to the rest of the computer. It's the video input cable for the converter board. In my profile 4 it was connected to the motherboard.

I'm thinking that unlike laptops, all in ones have plenty of space so they (at least in this case) converted the signal from digital to analog. I have read many posts about people trying to do this with old laptop lcds, but them need 300$ for a converter card. I think i might be lucky with this but i'm not sure.

Here are the inputs on the card.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I was able to connect the gateway profile 4 screen to a VGA cable as it comes comlete with it's own samsung controller, in the metal housing right behind the Lcd panel itself. I used the original gateway power supply and pined everything out using my fluke multimeter. It works great as a stand alone LCD. The pinout that was posted earlier is for the connection from panel to controller, not what you need. The profile pc has a secondary standard VGA out on a riser card, that's what I used to find pinout. Do continuity tests from LCD connect on mobo to that Standard VGA out, cross reference this with VGA pinout, an voilà 13 pins find there way to a 15 pin VGA cable. The powersupply connections are way simple.
