So the other night I went to order food online from a local, non-chain restaurant that I have ordered from before. This restaurant uses one of those popular, third party online ordering systems that I have, again, used multiple times. I was using my Macbook Pro. When I went to order, I was prompted to update my flash player for the ordering web app, which, I didn't think anything about it considering that I had used it many times before for this restaurant and others. I followed the prompts to update flash and ever since then I have had very annoying redirects while on both safari and chrome.

Clarification: When I use both chrome and safari web browsers, I will get redirected to some random, unfamiliar site. Most of the time it is to some bogus apple help site. I have run an anti-virus and it has found nothing on my system. I have also, as far as i know, deleted all of the apps that came with the flash update (They were some mac helper or mac defender style apps, iirc there were two).

I have tried reinstalling chrome, without any success. Ideas?

I would also recommend you run ADW cleaner as it's specifically designed to remove these things. Also form ninite get superantispyware it looks like a virus fake thingy but surprisingly it's one of the best removal tools out there.
As someone who continues to obsess over tech issues while they persist, I actually solved my issue. I ran malwarebytes and it found adware that i could identify as things that I had seen while dealing with the redirects. Did some testing with both browsers and haven't had the issue.
