Need help with monitor to go with asus strix geforce 1070 ti

Atm I bought asus vg258q which is a 1080p 144hz monitor for 300$ but I've noticed there are some 1440p 144hz and 1080p 240hz comparable in price. Just wondering if the monitor I got is worth the money. Thanks for the help in advance

No one needs 240hz. If you want a bigger screen then get a 1440p else stay as you are.

I have a asus strix geforce 1070ti and trying to figure out which monitor would benefit me the most. Just looking for suggestions on what monitor I would benefit from more a 144hz at 1440 or 1080p or a 240hz at 1080p. This would be for gaming on a vast variety of games.

Unless all you play is CSGO, go with the 144hz 1440P/1080P panel. 240hz is so ridiculously high that you'd need a 2 way SLI setup to even get above 200fps in most titles.

As for 1440P vs 1080P that's up to you, generally if you aren't super competitive in FPS, 1440P at 144hz is best.

Honestly, any 144hz 1440P non korean monitor is good. Not saying I wouldn't recommend korean brands, but a regular 144hz monitor has a lot higher chance of not coming with defects.

Difference between monitors <5ms shouldn't be noticeable to most users IMO.
That being said, if you current use a 1-2ms monitor, then the 4 or 5ms alternatives *might* be noticeable in some way -- Although I wouldn't bet on it.

VA strikes a nice balance between IPS (where you don't get the higher refresh rate) and TN (high refresh rates, poor colour reproduction & viewing angles).

Hey barty thanks so much for your help I've been the main moba games that I play is like mobiles like legal legends of paladins open planet maybe try to push like you know some open world games like fall out on it I think I'm gonna go with the Dell, basically the Dell is for gaming mainly and aoc for more pictures gaming etc?

The AOC is more of a balance - the larger screen real estate could be beneficial for multiple use-cases, not solely gaming.

Also I heard big screens aren't good for gaming referring to the 35" I really like the va panel haha
