Need help with motherboard compatibility

Hi I'm making a temporary PC build bc my current "PC" isn't working (it's basically a laptop inside a PC; HP p2-1334. You'll understand if you see the specs)
Anyways I'm really tight on money and I found a motherboard on eBay and a Core 2 Quad. Idk if they're compatible or not.

Yes they are compatible.

Why?

When Googling the parts you simply add "socket" to your query. That will return the socket of each part. They are both socket 775 which means they are compatible. ALMOST. There are BIOS issues that MIGHT possibly prevent a certain CPU from working. Improbably but possible. It could have an older BIOS and a newer socket 775 might not work. Will look deeper.

EDIT: http://www.dell.com/downloads/emea/products/optix/optiplex_760_spec_sheet_en.pdf?dgc=BA&cid=306033&lid=5794655&acd=123092276202786738c101156640&ven3=271303694522434922 does include that series. It is compatible.
