hi fellow builders. i have an issue i have never encountered before. I would like to change out my motherboard from fm2+ to am3+ to get a more powerful cpu and overclocker. So my few questions are, should i just stay with the fm2+ in hopes they come out with a fx 8350 equivalent cpu or just switch to am3+? ok final question, will i have to re-install my windows 8.1 erasing all my data and games or since its still amd product will it just accept it? oh and it is oem version of windows. thanks for any help guys.

I would prefer go FX-8350 with MSI 970 gaming .

Motherboard tier list: 970 chipset

Tier One-Class A: Very High quality. Great boards for OCing, have optional SLI capability but more importantly can OC FX 8 well, if you have to get a 970 chipset board, these will be your top choice. High quality, and no overheating issues.

970 GAMING is a much better option in this regard.

You must reinstall OS(windows 8.1) ,because you msut clean the old driver.
You can't not use your old oem version of windows because OEM copies cannot be transferred from one PC to another, your must buy a new one ,you can read this http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/22055-63-what-difference-version-retail
