So i have an MSI Z77A GD65 motherboard and i heard that there are some settings like power saving that can worsen gaming performance. I have never messed with the Bios for this mobo since the day i got it since I know absolutely nothing about what the options in the bios mean or what they do. I always wanted to learn and now i'm asking if someone can help me out. I've been experiencing stuttering issues with games that i run on this computer and i'm hoping that someone here can help me out. What options should i turn off or on to improve gaming performance without overclocking? thank you.

I have a Z77 Mpower which will probably have a fairly similar BIOS to you GD65 and to be honest I couldn't think of anything in there that is turned on by default that would cause a performance hit.
Even so I have gone through my bios and checked through the options in the advanced tab and power saving tab and these are the ones the *might* help. Don't expect the world but it could work.
Advanced:
PCIE GEN3 - On
PCIE Latency timer - 32 clocks
Sata mode - AHCI (unless using raid)
Virtu Tech - disabled
Initiate Graphic adapter - PEG
Rapid Start - Off
Smart Connect Technology - Off
Power Saving:
EuP 2013 - Off
C1E support - Off
Intel C-State - Off

Your stuttering problem could be caused by other problems like SLI in non SLI optimised games or an erroneous driver install somewhere. Maybe some background program that you didn't know was running. It could even be a CPU bottleneck in a poorly optimised game.

Well, to be honest, the stutter is not in all games. Its just in Wildstar and Watch Dogs but i really like these games and i've been looking for a solution for a long time. I tried a whole lot of things to fix it, but nothing worked. I've seen many people who claimed that these games run fine and others say the opposite so i'm not sure if they're unoptimized or not. There are games that run fine on my computer like bf4, but i just want to know for sure that it isn't a problem on my end.
