Need help with my blank desktop

Hi , when i start my PC [Windows 7] i cant see my desktop. Its completely blank . I cant even right or left click because nothing happens when i do. i tried accessing my task manager but couldn't, I have to press F1 for help and get to my computer and only then can i get to my documents, but through a window.
