Hey guys/and or gals. Im plannig to build my first gaming P.C. Ill get straight to the point. I have a few questions about this build which ill get to after i write down the spec of the P.C.

Processor: Intel Core i5 2400 USED.

Mobo: Asus P8H61-M-Le

RAM: Kingston 1x8 GB @ 1600 MHZ.

GPU: Club3d Radeon HD 7950 RoyalKing Edition.

Chasis: Thermaltake v4 Black Edition.

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1tb 3.5".

PSU: Corsair VS650w.

Optical Drive Asus DRW-24B5ST.

CPU Cooler : CoolerMaster Eagle RR-UAS-L9C4 Multi-Platform CPU Cooler.

Now for the questions about this build:

1) Is buying a used procesor a good idea. Im buying it used because my budget doesnt allow for a new core i5 processor.

2) On the requirements for the 7950 it said that it needs 2x6 pin PCI-E connectors. Does my PSU have those?

3) Is the motherboard good and will it be able to support the system.

4) Will the 650w PSU be enough as I plan to OC the 7950 or should i buy the cheaper Corsair VS550w.

5)Will the system fit in my mobo as it is in microATX form?

6) Will the system fit inside the chassis?

7) How long will the system last. I will use it mainly for gaming and i dont mind turning down graphics.

As a side note ill be playing games at 1680 x 1050.

Thats all. Hope Some one can answer my question 😀.

P.S : Sorry for my bad english as it is not my mother language.

1) Depends on the price that you get for the old processor. Might be a good deal.
2) Yes.
3) Yes.
4) 650W is safer.
5) Yes.
6) Yes.
7) A few years. 3 to 5 maybe.

I would rather recommend you to get 2x4GB for the RAM rather than 1x8GB, to make use of the dual channel memory, which gives a lot more performance.

Yes i thought about it but in the future i plan to increase my ram to 16gb and the mobo supports a maximum of 16gb of ram. So i thought that in the long run it would be cheaper. And thanks for ur answer.

Hey seladon i recently found a used gtx 680 4gb for around the same price as the 7950. Will my system handle the 680 4gb and should i buy it used. The card is a club3d model. The buyer claims that the card has a warranty of 1 year and 6 months left. Should i go for it? Thanks in advance. And i might overclock the gtx 680.
