Need help with my gaming desktop

I have a pretty decent desktop for gaming. I have a AMD FX black edition octa-core, with a Gigabyte motherboard 990, 8 gb RAM (going 16 this week) water cooler, a video card from ATI AMD Radeon 7990 6 gb and still, my system stutters every time I try to maximize Crysis 3 and Witcher 2. I am currently playing those games on max settings (not on ultra) and getting something between 30-40 FPS (sometimes more sometimes less depending on the phase, explosions....). I really don't want to go extreme and overclock the video card (ok... I already know some of you will probably call me a coward for this).
Within the normal range of things like, getting some new software to speed games, or buy more memory, or configure something on the computer or on the videocard, what could I do to try to fix that and gain more FPS within these games?
Thanks for the help.

I'd say it's issues with the video card. 8GB RAM is plenty for gaming.

Need more info though...

Have you updated all your drivers for your graphics card? If you have installed Mantel try going back to 13.12.

What resolution are you playing at?

What temps are you getting?

The temperature is fine. I update the drivers regularly. I tried different resolutions and the results are pretty much the same currently, most games I am playing I tend to go with 1600:900. But when I go with 1900:1080 it is not quite a difference in terms of FPS. I thought that with an AMD 7990 with 6 gb I would be able to play all games smoothly....

Try uninstalling the drivers completely from your computer using a program like this and then re install them:

There are others as well.

The 7990 is one of the best GPUs out there now. It should be getting 60-70fps on Crysis 3 @1080p with max settings.

Is it a new card? Has it ever worked properly?

Hi, could you please check the link above or send me the name of the software, because when I click on the link I get an error message. I will try to do your solution as soon as I get the opportunity to clean the drivers. And forgive me for the dumb question (but I really am a newbie in techie stuff), but once I clean the installed drivers, do I download the new ones from the same place (the webpage from AMD using the AMD catalist software) or do you recommend me some other place?
Oh... And the card is brand new and according to my computer hardware check is working properly.
Thanks!

Sorry it's this one:

Just google guru3d driver sweeper if that doesn't work.

Yeah once you have ran that just reinstall the drivers from AMDs website again. Let me know if it works

Hi, just tried your solution and still nothing.... I am playing at high settings with very high textures, and with that I am being able to get 30-40 FPS according to FRAPS. If I try to put the system specs at very high then sometimes the FPS drops to 20. You think if I get more memory (RAM memory and at better quality, like 1600 mhz) I will get better results?

What frequency is your RAM running at now? That shouldn't effect your FPS much anyway.

What CPU do you have? That could be bottlenecking the GPU.

OK, I have a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 (and my tech guy says that it is a pretty decent CPU, that is the link from it: http://br.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4001#sp) and currently I have 2 kingston memory 4gb each with 1000 mhz. Tomorrow I will be installing 16 gb 1866 mhz corsair memory. Do you agree with my tech guy that is not a problem with my CPU?

I don't know what model CPU you have. You just said AMD FX black edition octa-core so I do not know. 1000mhz RAM is pretty low, so you should see an improvement with the new RAM. Let me know if it works!
