I have a gigabyte GA-H97-HD3 and it’s been running perfectly with my i5-4590. Recently I bought an i7-4790K and when I put the i7 in, the PC kept going into a boot loop and wouldn’t start properly. Eventually when the PC would stop looping, the windows 10 loading circle would appear and then suddenly stop. It kept doing this. It won’t boot into windows and when I put the i5 back it, the PC works fine. I made sure my BIOS was up to date and I tested the i7 on another PC and it worked fine. I even reset the CMOS and that didn’t work either. Am I missing something?

Also, before windows started loading, I am able to load into the bios but that about all I can do with the i7. Please help.

I've also tried using a different boot drive all together with my gigabyte motherboard to test that theory but it was also in successful. I even tried no boot drive and the PC was still boot looping.

I'd look for bent pins. Just to make sure there isn't an issue with the motherboard itself. I doubt there are any bent pins because the other processor works but it's still worth a look. Never hurts to look. Also if you updated to the latest bios it's a beta so there might be issues with that bios. I'd go down to Bios F6 just to make sure it's not a bios issue.

I was running a BIOS Version of F8 before I put the i7 in. When I had the problems I put the old CPU in and Updated it to the F9c version which still didn't fix the problem.

There were no bent pins. Also with regards to downgrading the BIOS, I think update F7 prevents you from being able to downgrade the BIOS. I tried downgrading to BIOS version F4 but it wouldn't let me because it was old.
