MSI Z97 GAMING 7 OR

(Mind you, all the boards are similar price except for the MSI KRAIT which is a lot cheaper and the ASUS MAXIMUS which is the most expensive ; the 2 gaming 7 are similar price to the GIGABYTE Z97X UD5H and the ASROCK)

Solution
- expensive mobo does not improve overall performance that much, you can go for a cheaper board such as ASrock Z97 Extreme 4
- CAS latency 9 RAM is good enough
- WD blue is more than enough for storage purpose , you are basically paying extra for WD black's extra warranty period, they perform basically the same
- yes an avg fps of 50 - 80 is possible for GTX 970 on 1440p max settings
