Need help with new gaming PC

Thanks for the reply. I have actually had a change of plans and have decided to build my own. I have never done this before and know nothing about setting up a computer. I have a friend that could probably put it together for me. What list of parts would you suggest around the $700 price range? And how much better would this computer be that I build myself compared to a prebuilt from bestbuy like you linked?

How about this.

Or you could get the Radeon R9 380 for a similar price.

How well would this build perform compared to the best buy computer you linked earlier? Would I be able to run games smoothly? Is this the type of computer I would be able to upgrade in the future? Would this computer last a while before needing to be upgraded? Sorry for all the questions but I'm not very educated when it comes to this stuff. Thanks so much for your help.

The motherboard listed is socket 1150 it is not Intel's latest but is still current and the CPU can be updated to a powerful I7. If you could afford about $40 or so more you can get the I5 4460, although the cheapest I5 it is a quad core and would show a significant performance gain in some newer and future games.
Don't quote me on this but I think you will be able to play all cross platform games at decent settings until the Xbox 2, PS5 comes along with the I5 and R9 380, you can update your GPU in the future if needed.

What do you think of this build for $750?
