Hi, yesterday I upgraded the motherboard, gpu, cpu, ram and added an 250gb SSD to my computer. I wanted to install windows on the ssd (to increase boot times) and games on the ssd and everything else on my 1TB hard drive. I watched a video which I thought would walk me through this, but instead it made me clone my entire hard drive to my SSD, so now the SSD is full but it does have windows on it. I want to delete everything off the SSD other than my games and Windows, how can I do this?

Solution
I might have done I don’t really remember.
At this point, it doesn't appear that you can return the system to the original drive config.
Additionally, you're still using the old OS in the new hardware. I'd be surprised if you don't encounter any issues from this.
(yes, a "clone" is no different than trying to use the original physical drive)

Personally, I'd start over completely, with a clean install on the SSD.

It is wise to know the outcome of an action before you do it.

What, specifically, is on the SSD?
Have you deleted everything off the HDD?
Was the 1TB and the OS from an earlier system, before the new parts?
How full is the SSD?

(more questions to follow)

On the SSD there is everything that was on my hard drive.

No I haven't deleted everything , I don't know why I would do that, can you explain pls?

Yes, it was from an earlier system. I kept the hard drive and psu in and upgraded everything else.

Literally has 10mb left on it.

How can I show you an image of the partitions in Macrium?

OK, couple of things.

With all new parts like that, a clean install of the OS is strongly recommended. Often, it simply does not boot up when using an old drive+OS.

Obviously, "10mb" free space on your SSD is no good. That is killing its lifespan.

You need to start over completely.
Power off, disconnect the SSD, power up.
Does it boot correctly with only the original HDD?

Just done this, no it does not boot correctly with only the HDD.

That doesn't look like result of cloning. Something else was done there.
G: drive contains 330GB. Obviously this could not have been cloned to 240GB SSD.
Plus - HDD is not bootable.

Can you show contents of G: drive ?

Also - please provide link to the video walkthrough, you used.

The G: drive is the Hard Drive for some reason and the C: drive is the SSD - again not sure how this has happened. The C: drive (ssd) has everything on it from the hard drive. Also, it contains 330GB because I downloaded some games on the HDD since I cloned it, it had 220GB on it before I cloned it.

How would I make a clean install on the ssd? Also how do I fix my HDD as it won’t boot?

Also how do I fix my HDD as it won’t boot?
Execute from elevated command prompt (regular command prompt will give error on last step).
(if you get any error then stop immediately)

diskpart
list disk
select disk 0
(select 1TB disk)
list partition
create partition primary size=350
format fs=ntfs quick
active
assign letter=H
exit
bcdboot G:\windows /s H:
After this is done, disconnect SSD and verify, you can boot from HDD alone.

The HDD will be a secondary drive, and does not need to be bootable.

No errors so far - I got to this stage and this looks a little odd. It says there's 350mb left on my disk 0 (hard drive), which is strange as it said before it had 600gb+ left on it.

When this is all fixed and working - what should I install to the SSD, just my games and game launchers, such as Steam? And everything else goes on the HDD?

Steam/Origin client
Antivirus and antimalware
Whatever other utilities you use
Whatever other applications you use.

Maybe a game or two as space fits.
Games can also go on the HDD.
Movies/Music/Docs/Downloads...on the HDD.
