I have an i7-4790k @4.0Ghz, an air Cooler and an ASUS Z97-K Motherboard.

I need instructions on how to CORRECTLY OC the CPU to 4.4Ghz. there are so many conflicting guides and most of them I fail to fully understand as I have no experience yet with this BIOS version.

When I first tried changing settings in this BIOS the rig wouldn't boot up at all and it took me 4 hours and blind luck to get it to boot up without the BSOD, reboot, BSOD etc.

this version of the BIOS is so different from the BIOS on my last Motherboard it is like going from knowing what to do to not having a freaking clue and buggering up the rig.

Help is needed.

there is no option to unlock CPU in my BIOS. I perused every page and there is no section for unlocking the damn CPU. does that mean it is perma-locked by the manufacturer?

in Advanced\CPU Configuration\CPU Power Management Configuration there is meant to be the option for changing CPU lock. that option is not there. the other options are but no CPU lock settings.

Thanks for the link, but my main problem is the new BIOS and I can't find a clear cut tutorial on correctly OCing the CPU in BIOS. (Last time I chanced ONE setting it took me 4 hours to fix the catastrophe)

this new bios (ASUS Z97-k Motherboard) is so different from any other I have ever used.

Thanks again for the link. however I am baffled as where to find an actual download link for AI Suite 3. Google is not my friend here.
