Need Help with pasting

Hello,
I know how to cut and paste, however a few weeks ago I could not paste anything I cut. I thought that it would work itself out but it hasn't. How can I fix this problem?

It it just one application causing the issue ? i had this issue with a pre release version of Firefox a few weeks ago and it was resolved when i upgraded to the release version.

Can you copy, paste from within a notepad document ?

Can you cut, paste?

Are you using the shortcuts "ctrl + c" and "ctrl + v" or are you using the right click menu ?

Do any other "alt key" combinations work, if not your alt key is broken. Try the one on the other side of the keyboard. Is your keyboard layout correct ?
