Hello
Ive recently upgraded to i7 9700k and i need a cooler
I wanted to buy noctua nh d15 but the cooler is way too huge for my case
Ive been thinking about water coolers and ive found a cheap one called Lc Power LC CC 240 Lico
Heres link
https://gigatron.rs/kuleri-i-oprema/lc-power-vodeno-procesorsko-hladjenje-lccc-240-lico-85927

Its really cheap and the tdp of it is 300w which is a lot more than some expensive models in my country
The question is will it cool the i7 enough for at least 4.8ghz? Or is it some cheap knock off because ive not seen any lc power coolers on the recommendeds

I recommend a secondary cooler if opting for an AIO. Fans are cheap to replace when they break. The pump warrants a brand new cooler, and when it gives up the ghost, you are stuck until you get a replacement.
So an AIO means having 2 coolers. If the budget is tight, don't go the AIO route yet.

That 300w TDP is most likely a lie.
-TDP has different means of measurement depending on who's doing it, be it AMD, Intel, Cooler Master, etc.
-I could see that 300w thing being doable with some 240mm cpu custom loops, but not with an AIO. Their weakness in flow rate would bring it down.

What's the chassis model, so we know what the max air cooler clearance is?
You can't really trust the TDP numbers provided. I think most 240mm radiators would be overwhelmed trying to cool a late model Intel for example (they push 240W).

Stock 9700K can reach 4.9Ghz. Are you talking about an all core overclock?

I would stick to known AIO brands. There are probably some air coolers you can get that would be enough though. Would need the case details to give recommendations.

I see
My computer case is ig max e06t81br
Heres the link https://www.pinshop.rs/proizvodi/ko...ja/kucista/ig-max-kuciste-e06t81br-600w-20441

The case is rather small, there is a small panel covering a side of the front
Im just worried about the cooler size.... fitting an aio would be the best way to save on space and since this is my first time buying a k model cpu and mounting a cooler i dont really know much about them

Ive seen videos of noctua nh d15 installation the cooler size is just huge

I bought the i7 with the intention of overclocking to 4.6 ghz minimum and its also my first time and since i play many cpu intensive games, i had a i3 9100f and the upgrade really boosted the fps

Oh wow. No listed specs for air cooler clearance...
@Eximo Any luck? OP might have to measure that one themselves.

Not even close. I can't get half the pages to load.

Manually measuring from the bottom of the base of the current cooler to the interior of the side panel (or roughly) is probably the best idea.

I will see if I can find a case that looks like it uses the same tooling. It is very old school. Full drive bays in the front and top mounted PSU.

Im not entirely sure abour the sizes as i said im a begginner in the pc world
Im just looking for a adequate cooling method ive read online about coolers but i cant pick the best one the noctua is too big, the be quiet one is also quite big and too difficult to install, aio cooler is probably the best one but its
expensive
Im probably just gonna buy a new case but would like to save some cash along the way

I would recommend a new case. I don't actually see a decent way to mount anything but a 120mm AIO in that chassis. Certainly not going to get one in the front and the top has the power supply in it.

Noctua D15 is a big cooler, there are slightly shorter ones that are also good. Things like the Scythe Mugen, or be quiet! Dark Rock Pro. Still those are still 150mm+ tall coolers vs the 165mm of the Noctua, or the 158mm of their 120mm cooler.

I see
Ive just bought the Stars-Solutions-GM06 case

I can fit the noctua now but are there perhaps any alternatives, i dont want to spend too much money perhaps around 100 dollars?
