Hey guys, I have finally complied the items that I need for my first PC build. I was wondering how much watts should my power supply be?

Here are the specs of my first build:
CPU: Intel Core i5-4460
Mobo: ASRock H97 Pro4
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX760 SC ACX 2GB GDDR5
RAM: G.Skill RipJawsX Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3-1600
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 7200RPM 3.5"
Optical Drive: HP DH-16AAL (reused from my old computer)

Here's the link to PCPartsPicker!

Solution
Power Supply Calculators and vendors recommendations are self serving. The GTX 760 can pull around 160w which means the manufacturers recommendation of a 500w power supply assumes the rest of the system needs 340w. Minus a GPU, not many systems out there can do that... They also don't assume you have a quality PSU, so they pad there as well (cheap PSUs overstate their output).

Plugging your build into PCPartPicker will show you a more accurate calculation (top right). So I was a little off... 350w is your max potential.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($189.77 @ NCIX US)
Motherboard: ASRock H97 PRO4 ATX LGA1150...

Hi sadams04, thanks for your reply and the recommendation! 😀 Just curious though, how did you arrive at the 300w for the power consumption? Because on the EVGA site, it says something along the lines of "Minimum of a 500 Watt power supply" for the GTX 760.

Sorry if I'm sounding very noobish.

I see! That really cleared things up for me. Thanks so much for your help! 😀
By the way, any recommendations on buying either Win8 or 7? Still stuck in a dilemma regarding this. I considered getting 8 because I heard that apparrently Win10 will be a free update. (Sorry I'm being a cheap student. heh)

I see. Thanks so much for your time man. Really appreciate it. :)
