Need help with running two GPU please?

Running a Nvidia GeForce Gt 610, Upgrading to evga geforce gtx 960 supersc acx 2.0+ 2gb, Motherboard supports two GPU with crossfire. Want to know if I can run both to improve Graphics, or if they need to be the same, or if even worthwhile?

SLI only works with 2 identical models of GPU. Having the gt610 and the 960 together won't improve performance.

The 610 might be able to be used as a PhysX card though but it would only work in a few games and I don't know if help at all.
