Need Help with Strange Motherboard and CPU Behavior

I have a working CPU and motherboard. I also have a CPU and motherboard with no video. I don't know if the problem is with the CPU or motherboard. To try and determine whether the CPU or motherboard is bad, I put the questionable CPU into the good motherboard. The good motherboard now says the RAM is bad. If I put the good CPU back into the motherboard the RAM is fine.

If I put the good CPU into the questionable motherboard the fan turns on and off repeatedly.

Any ideas on why the combination of CPUs and motherboards are behaving so strangely?

If you would only list what you have !!!!!!
A strange behavior like that could be because of BIOS version compatibility or just a bad processor or MB.
