Hello im building my very first computer, and for the motherboard i chose the asus sabertooth z87. I have allredy ordered all the parts and i have gotten most of them. The os is going to be win 8.
There are a few things i coudnt find the awnser on regarding the motherboard. First:
The flow valve on the thermal armor has a switch that alows you to open or close the valve. It sais that its best to have the valve open if you have a downdrift cpu cooler. Is the stock heatsink that comes with the intel core i5-4670k a downdrift fan? And if not what type of fan is it, and should i have the valve opened or closed?
Also, in the accessory bag that comes with the board you get two opptional 35mm fans. But on many videos i have watched people say that you should only install the fans depending on wether the flow valve is opened or closed. Should i install the fans? And if i can install the fans ether way is it smart to use them? Id rather have my system noisy and cool than silent and hot.
And then its about the thermal radar 2. First of all is this something you have to download? If not how do you access it? What is the difference between thermal radar 2 and ai suite 3? In the accessory pack there were three thermistor cables, how are these used? In the users guide it stood you had to tape the sensor on the thermistor cable to the component you wanted to monitor with adhesive tape, but that the tape was bought seperatly. Do i need a speciall tape or can i just use any tape and tape the sensor to the component? Is the theristor cable used in the thermal radar 2? What i really want is to use the thermal radar so the fan speed automaticly gets changed depening on the temp of the cpu so i dont have to go and chek all the time.
