Need help with the limit of RAM in the N68-VS3 FX

I have this problem with the N68-VS3 FX where manual on the box says the max ram is 8GB but in the page http://asrock.com/mb/NVIDIA/N68-VS3%20FX/?cat=Specifications says it its 16GB. There is any way to find out witch one is true.

I know its probably the one in the box but i just want to be sure to make the right buy of ram in when i can. ( ;_; 4gb os ram its hell in 2015)

What version is the in-box user's manual? The one online is version 1.1 dated December 2011. It may be that the manual in the box was printed before 8GB DIMMs were common. I would make sure you have the latest BIOS -- version 1.80 before trying 8GB DIMMs.
