Need Help With This Rig!

My friend is upgrading his rig and he wants some advise:

His current build is actually a computer he bought a while ago.

His gpu is: AMD RADEON HD 6670
His cpu is:the intel i7 2600k that is a few years old
He also has a 460w psu (not sure what certified it is)

He mainly wants to upgrade his gpu to either a gtx 760 or 660ti. He said he mainly wants a good card that is under $300.

Would the few year old i7 be a bottleneck to 760 or 660ti?

Would he need to get a better psu?

The i7 will not bottleneck ANY GPU. Even a 780ti.

He will need a new PSU because that one is probably junk. Replace it with a 500w unit from Antec, XFX, Corsair, Seasonic.

I would stay away from the CX units. I had a cx600 ruin my first computer build. They have poor quality capacitors.

I've been using the cx600 for over a year, no problems...

Mike lasted about 7 months. They are made with inferior capacitors that like to fail if you get the PSU anywhere near it 80% usage. What specs do you have it powering?
