Question Need help with unstable internet

So I have a 2 mbs internet connection cuz my dad is pretty old school and doesn't know the importance of fast internet. The problem is that I'm mostly getting barely 10 kbs and even google search results won't load. Sometimes it works fine but most of the time it's barely 10 kbs and this has been happening ever since we got it. So today I tried changing the password and it worked fine for 2hours and now its back to barely 10 kbs. Anyone know what's going on here? I know this problem isn't specific to one device.

What device did you change the password on?
Are you using ethernet or wifi?

changed it from a laptop and using wifi. Running the troubleshooter gives nothing
