need help with usb recovery

I have the Windows 8 disk but no product key and the Windows file corrupted so I can't do restore points I have a friend that is willing to make a usb recovery drive for my Windows will this just ask for the product key again or will it fix my Windows as I can't boot my pc typing from a phone is hard sorry
