Hey guys, I'm wondering what parts to get for the rest of my system. So far I have:

i5 2500k
gigabyte z68mx-UD2H-B3
1 TB 7200 RPM seagate barracuda HD
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

and I was thinking of:
Rosewill CHALLENGER
Sapphire Radeon 6870
Antec High Current 750w 80+ bronze power supply
4 gb ddr3/8gb ddr3 ripjaws ram (gskill)
Asus 24x dvd/cd burner

And i'm curious if this is sufficient, which i'm sure it is but I want to make it as cheap as possible, as this is already over 700$, and my original plan was 600$ >.<

not going to crossfire, looking to get max preformance on most games with a playable FPS (30-anything really) and for it to be a sufficient computer for a student.

I figure 750w is alot, and 4 gb ddr3 is the way to go...really don't want to cut on the 6870, but will if I have too. Max for the parts (case, gfx, psu, ram, and dvd drive is 320$. Thanks!

I wouldn't buy anything with the name "Rosewill" on it......think of it as the house or "walmart" brand.

CM HAF series (922, 932, X) / Antec 902 / 1200 / DF 85 / 300 Illusion for the case

6870 a bit old, 6970 for 2560 x 1600 ..... 560 Ti (900 Mhz) for 1920 x 1200

Guru3D uses the following games in their test suite, COD-MW, Bad Company 2, Dirt 2, Far Cry 2, Metro 2033, Dawn of Discovery, Crysis Warhead. Total fps (summing fps in each game @ 1920 x 1200) for the various options in parenthesis (single card / SL or CF) are tabulated below along with their cost in dollars per frame single card - CF or SLI:

$ 170.00 6870 (434/701) $ 0.39 - $ 0.49
$ 240.00 6950 (479/751) $ 0.50 - $ 0.64
$ 260.00 6950 Frozr OC (484/759) $ 0.54 - $ 0.69
$ 205.00 560 Ti (455/792) $ 0.45 - $ 0.52
$ 360.00 6970 (526/825) $ 0.68 - $ 0.87
$ 220.00 560 Ti - 900 Mhz (495/862) $ 0.44 - $ 0.51

PSU is a good one, Corsair HX or AX series also worthy as is XFX Core and Black Editions (very affordable). In the Antec 1200 or DF85 tho, CP-850 can't be touched for the price.

GSkill got popular selling RAM cheaper than anyone else....but those days are gone.
