Hi,

I am in the UK using a Virgin superhub 2. My WIFI signal downstairs is fine, however it's pretty slow/unreliable upstairs.
I have bought a DLink Powerline starter kit, so that I could give my son a "wired" connection upstairs, however this doesnt solve the problem of normal WIFI upstairs.
I recently found an older DLink wireless modem (Think its the DLink 615 one), and wondered where the best place to put the wired ethernet cable is. Is it best to use on of the LAN input, or should I put it into the Broadband input. I have no idea, but having quickly tested it in one of the LAN inputs the conncetion seemed better than before.
Thanks for your help and going through all the above TL: DR.

Solution
the set up i would use is go from the super hub to the power line. from the upstairs power line ethernet hub use a four port switch. plug your son pc into one of the port of the switch with dhcp off. use dhcp on the super hub. from one of the ports of the switch connect an ap point hardware to it. name it second floor make sure it not on the same channel as down stairs. anyone on the second floor should have good signal from the ap point.

Solution
Hi,
I think I get it (Maybe??!!)
So basically I would plug my upstairs powerline adaptor into the "Broadband" input of the DLink wireless modem, and then set this up using dhcp on the superhub.
My son is using his connection as wired to his PS4, but claims WIFI signal is stronger thank powerline for some unknown reason to me. I guess I could plug his PS4 into one of the wireless' Lan channels and see if that improves anything?
Cheers
