Need help with XP installation, gets stuck on Windows setup blue screen

SO i just killdisked an old computer and when attempting to installed windows xp (32-bit SP3) I hit any key to boot from disk and it goes straight to a blue screen with Windows Setup at the top.
thats all it says.
I cant figure this out please help.
I dont have many options in bio. i tried running from raid and ide with same results.
Computer is a old emachine T3516

Yes worth waiting a little while, give it 10mins or so, if no progress ever shows down the bottom it can be a sign of a faulty memory module or failing disk.

Best way to check either of those components is with bootable media, either of the 2 following links should have enough utilities to get on with.
You're looking for Windows Memory Diagnostics, or memtest86. Then there's a plethora of hard disk diagnostics to choose from, you will need to select the right one based on the manufacture of your hard disk drive.

Referring to the image below, at the bottom is a grey message box, it would normally show you that drivers are loading after the F6 message, sometimes it can take up to 10 minutes for this to complete, do you get that?

In the BIOS you might want to try setting it to failsafe defaults.

Check the hardware for any faults, typical causes are faulty memory or hard disk, there's plenty of bootable media for those.

Otherwise e-machines might be doing some tattooing methods, i.e. they want you to only use official media to restore Windows.
