I'm doing an intel build-primarily for gaming, along with photo shop. I need a mother board that has 2 pcie slots @16(I'm running sapphire 6950-6970 cf) that doesn't cost up words of $400. If I go with the 3820,mother board is no problem.2700t is the other option, that's where the mother board is the issue. Is there a mother board out there that fits the BILL,or is the i7 3820 the way to go? Both of these cpus are the same price-as well as the i7 2600t. This will be my 1st intel experience, from the amd 1090t,and Gigabyte 990 xfa-ud3 .Thanks, any advise is much appreciated.

Hello !

First off, next time you should ask motherboard-related questions in the "Motherboards and Memory\Motherboards" section of Tom's Hardware forums.

If I were you, I'd go with an Asus Sabertooth. Very good build, very durable and it has a very good warranty.

Since you don't say what your processor is, I can't direct you to a specific Asus Sabertooth model, but I'm sure you can google the one you need.

Good luck,

neither SB nor IB support dual x16 lanes; the processors only have 16 lanes total.

You will need a board with something like lucidlogic's virtu mvp chip on it. Something like Asus's p8z77

But with the video cards the OP has, he doesn't need two 16x lanes. With both cards on 8x lines he won't see any loss in performance.
